This art work was inspired by Woman of Venice IX (Femme de Venise IX) created by the artist Alberto Giacometti. I was inspired by the texture that the artist created and tried to replicated it in a manner. Instead of fusing everything together I decided I would create the limbs separate from one another creating a more readable artwork from distance. I liked the idea of using wires, they symbolize the human veins that run through our bodies. I did not want an ordinary shaped body I wanted it to read odd but yet keeping it understandable. The background as seen is black, I figured it would emphasize the primary focus of the artwork that being the wired body. The artwork that inspired what I'm calling "Wired body" is undeniably breathtaking, replicating or creating something that could even compare is certainly a challenge. My original idea was to hang the pieces on a slab of wood letting the pieces dangle about in the air. Unlike the original artwork that seems stiff and immobile.
